Tony Perry's excellent adventure
Tuesday, September 28, 2004:
Monday night i had the first read-through. It was a tremendous experience. I think we all got along great, and the rapport just built through the course of the evening. I sat next to the playwright, Joshua -- ok, no small pressure there. He also seems like a great guy. There was lots of laughter.
It was a fitting way to spend the evening after a fire and explosion managed to shut down Long Island Rail Road service to Penn Station. Shortly after -- mind you, after -- the conductor collected our tickets, we rolled into Jamaica station and were told to get off the train! We all wound our way outside and around the corner into the subway station, and took the E train in to the city. By the time the script reading was over, the trains were running again, so the trip home was uneventful. As uneventful as it can be with The October Project on the Mp3 player!
