Tony Perry's excellent adventure Monday, September 10, 2001: Yesterday was Bethel United Methodist Church's 50th anniversary, and Bishop Neil Irons came to preach. Good sermon. I know the bishop's son, because he was in a production of "Hello Dolly" that I ran sound for last month. Then we had a meal and were off to Pine St. UMC for the installation ceremony of our new District Superintendent, Gere Reist. He started his sermon by playing a sample from the "Star Wars" radio show -- and I was geeky enough to recognize it. Then he had the tumerity to preach a sermon saying "justice" and "vengance" are not the same thing. . . I like him a LOT. He also knows about "Dr. Who"... I mean, how cool is THAT?
